Important information for developers: Black screen in Google Chrome

2017-08-21

The latest builds of Google Chrome (60.0.3112.90+) are now forcing websites to use a secure URL (SSL) for allowing access to cameras or microphones to the Adobe Flash Player and HTML5. This means that your site URL must start by "https://" to be compatible with video/audio recording. In addition, you must embed the Nimbb Player by using our HTTPS version. Unless you do this, your users will see a black screen and will not be able to record videos using Nimbb or any other software that records in the browser using Google Chrome.

Alternatively, you can ask you users to use another browser like Firefox. Firefox doesn’t have this restriction of using a secure URL and will allow access to the webcam as usual. Your users must install the Flash plugin in order to be able to use Nimbb.
